Year 9 Creative Media Animation – Term 04 Mr Andrews

Task 4: e-pub, commentary and poster self-reflection and evaluation:

Part One: Discuss your feelings about the e-pub, poster and commentary task:

1.    Are you satisfied with the final result? Yes I am I liked how my I books turned out.

2.    Did the e-pub require more/less time than you originally thought? No I thought it was a good amount of time that we had to do it and I got it done in plenty of time.

3.    Would like to change any aspects of your final project (layout, links, images, video and audio content, colour scheme etc)? The only thing that I can think of that I would like to change is my poster I think I could have made that a lot better to be honest.

4.    If you could start the project again what would you do differently? The poster, and I would probably right more than I did on the last 2-3 scenes.

Part Two: Respond to each of the following dot points (using complete sentences or paragraphs). You should include as much detail as possible in your responses.

1.    Discuss whether your e-pub and poster have turned out the way you pictured them? I am happy with how they turned out and I was aiming for it to turn out like this, though I would have like to have done a bit more with my poster.

2.    Explain whether your e-pub and poster clearly depicts the style of your animation and describe some specific design principles that you have used to achieve this;

I think that my epub explains the meaning of our film very well and what we were thinking when we were making it, and when you look at the poster and read it I think you get the general outline of what the movie will include and be about.

3.    Describe any problems or technical difficulties you encountered while creating your director commentaries in GarageBand. These may include; sound or video issues, corrupt or missing files, difficulty using the iBooks Author or GarageBand software, problems importing/exporting files, etc;

At the start I had problems as I didn’t have a large portion of the scenes that I needed so I had to use my groups USB’S to get the things I needed off of them and then had to change them to quick times which used up a fair amount of practical time.

4.    Did you have all of the necessary resources to complete your e-pub and poster or did you have to create new materials?

No I had all the sources that were needed to create it, the one thing that I didn’t have was Ibooks on my lap top so that I could work on it in prep time and not just in class so I had to load that up onto my lap top which did not take very much time.

5.    List the steps you used to plan and develop your project;

Well to make things easier for me I didn’t start writing until I had all the scenes uploaded and ready to go so that when I started writing I could just concentrate on the writing and not having to upload another video each time I had finished writing about a scene.

6.    Did you use content-lists, flowcharts or other documents during the planning process;

No I did not use any of these things.

7.    Clarify any time-management issues you encountered during the creative process and describe the steps you took to improve in this area;

I think that next time I would work on it more at the start so that towards the hand in date I don’t have lots of things that I still need to do, but honestly I think I did pretty good with time as I had everything done on the hand in day and I wasn’t too stressed about getting everything done.

8.    Discuss whether you undertook adequate and detailed reflection throughout your project. i.e. Have you provided enough evidence to support your work? (Look back at your blogs and think about whether it looks like a whole terms worth of work);

To be honest I don’t think I have used my blog as much as I should have this term and I didn’t write anything on my blog during doing this assignment which is something I would change if I were to do this assignment again.

music and putting together

So my group still has to put all of the scenes together and add in the music, this hopefully wont be too hard to do but it will most probably take some time. And we will then need to add the music in, we are going to choose a song that will go with the animation, and where not so shore on the song that we are going to use yet but once my group has finished all the scenes we will discuss it and look into some songs. I have already saved all of the scenes to quick time so that they are all ready to put together when we are ready.

frustration.

I have had a lot of frustration during the time of making my scenes. As there was some problems when I lost a scene and had to start all over again and it took a while to remake but I did eventually. There was also frustration with just problems trying to do my scenes.

All finished!

So I have now finished all my scenes and am very happy as to how they have turned out. So now that it is coming towards the end of our animations Helena, Brooke and I are going to begin putting it together once they have finished all their scenes, and I think they are doing very well and are coming towards the end of finishing their scenes as well.

group work

The group is always working hard every lesson and getting a lot done each lesson, and there are times when we get very frustrated when things aren't working out the way we want but we always figure it out and help each other and at the end it turns out very well.
We are all happy with our animation and have all most finished most of our scenes and then we will have to put it together and add music to make it more effective.
I think we are all very excited to see the turning out of our animation as we have all put a lot of effort in.

my scenes

I have now finished most of my scenes, but im still working on my biggest scene. I have finished the scene where the bird turns into a plane and then the plane and then the plane flies around and then lands. I am now working on the scene where the butterfly flies around and then falls apart and lands on the ground and then it rains and it turns into dirt and then  turns into grass, that shows nature and how things work and progress through nature, this is a scene that I am very happy with and is turning out really well.

Problems

Today I forgot to bring my USB to creative media so I can't do my animation, so I am taking this opportunity to update my blog as I have been working hard on my animations I have not been working much on my animation. 

animation work

our story board is coming along nicely they have turned out better than i expected. Everyone is very pleased with the work they have made.
i have done most of my parts for the animation but still have a few more to do.
i can't wait until where all done with our parts and can put it all together im excited to see how it will turn out once it has all been put together.

class time

lately in class me, Brooke and Helena have been working a lot on our animations, we have gotten really far with them and i am really pleased as to how they are turning out. We have been working really hard as a group and we have gone through frustrations together when things aren't turning out the way we want them too, but we always work through it and things work out the way we need.

change

We are now thinking about changing our idea to maybe drawing things on a piece of paper and making the drawinga come to life, we're not 100% sure yet we just think this idea may be more effective and easier to do.

final idea

Our final idea is to make a mac computer come to life and add other things along with it, we have not finished our planning just yet.I think the idea's we have a really good and could be progressed into something really creative and different. Some things we are thinking about having happening is having the apple in the mac come to life and jump out of the computer, the letters on the key board are then going to come to life and the apple is going to come and eat all the letters on the keyboard and then at the end it going to spit them all back out again, this is just the start, there is still a lot more idea's to be progressed.

update

We have been trying to come up with some really creative ideas people have not done, something different.
We have come up with some good ideas so far and we are excited to see what will happen.
I'll keep my blog updated and tell you whats gonna happen next.

term 2 creative media.

This term in creative media we are making an animation and my partners are Brooke and Helena and this lesson we are working on what we should do for our animation. We have to come up with something to do by next Friday.
Me and my group want to come with something really different that no one has ever done before, something really effective.
I am looking forward to beginning this assignment and to see what ideas we come up with.

assignment work.

Lately in creative media we have been working on our assignment. Although I am a bit scared as I have been working hard but the other today I opened my USB drive and it had not saved, so I had to start all over again today, but I am beginning to catch up.

Update.

At the moment in creative media we are doing an assignment, and we have to chose 2 people and do what ever we want to these poeple. For example I am doing Helena and Brook who are both in my creative media class. I can do what I want to these peoplesa long as t has something to do with who they are as a person. For Brook I am making her a nurse as she is a caring person and likes to help people.
And for Helena I am going to put a glass artistic pattern on her face, and make her lips, eyes and hair a different colour. I am looking forward to getting more into this assignment and seeing how my results will look.

This lady is a scared kind of surprised, like maybe something has grabbed her, or she is being kidnapped. You can tell by her wide eyes and the hand over her mouth.

This girl is a happy kind of surprised, you can tell from the way she is smiling but surprised at the same time. Maybe her boyfriend proposed to her, or she found out one of her good friends just had a baby..

This baby has a very surprised expression on his face. Like maybe someone or something surprised him, maybe someone jumped out unexpectedly and surprised him.

This kid is really happy like he is spending some time with his family playing around, being a kid.
He has got a big smile on his face and so has the grandmother so he is clearly happy and so is she.

This lady is really looks really happy and surprised at the same time, like maybe she just go a job she really wanted, or maybe that man just proposed to her. You can tell she is really happy, the way her mouth has opened up so wide and her eyebrows have lifted up so high.

This baby is very happy, like something has really amused him/her.

You can tell from the really strong emotion on the babies face, and how the baby looks happy and like its laughing alot.

This kid looks really sad, like his mother has gone somewhere and she is all he wants. He looks as if he needs some comforting from someone he loves. You can tell by the deep sadness in his face this is no fake cry, he is clearly really upset.

This man is clearly sad about something, maybe he just lost someone close to him or had a fight with someone. You can tell how he is feeling from just one look at the man.

This child has a scared and sad kind of emotion on he face. You can tell these things from just looking at someones face. Emotions are a very strong expression and are used lots in life, as that is ow you can tell when someone is happy, sad, angry, excited etc...

In creative media we got a photo of Herminie and photoshoped her, I made her hair purple, her lips pink and her eyes red. We learnt how to make this look natural. I think mine turned out well.

creative media is a really great class that i always enjoy, when i see that i have creative media on my timetable im always reieved that i dont have to go to math or English or something..
The other day we got set a task and we have to chose three different emotions and and with those emotions like sad, happy or angry and in each of those things we have to do three different types of happy, sad or angry. We have to then write the kind of happy, sad or angry they are with each photo. I am looking forward to doing this task and all the other tasks/assignments we have coming.

Overlapping skin.

In creative media we got taught how to put the skin or pattern or anything you want onto your animal/person.
This can turn out to look really funny and interesting. This was a really fun and funny activity.

In our last creative media class we had to do the same thing as the emu and the frog accept with things of our own choice. O decided to have a cats head a put it on a dogs body using all the same methods as doing the emu and frog. I really liked the result of mine as it looked like a real animal to me and I thought it was quite cute. This has been my favorite lesson so far.

On our first creative media lesson we had to get an emus head and put it on a frogs body, and then edit it until it looked real. We had to rotate the emus head horizontal to have it fit on the frogs body, then we had to line up the eyes correctly with each other, then brush out everything around the both of them to have one back ground and not have to 2 overlap. And thats most of how we made the emu have a frogs body. I had alot of fun playing around with the emu and the frog in this lesson.
